My works conveys the total sum movements of outer and inner gazes.
Navigating between two cultural identities and stream of consciousness, reflecting on my positionality and sense of in-betweenness that construct or deconstruct the idea of personhoods.
Combining figurative, abstract and symbolic elements, painting as space that embodies the emotional landscape of interior, meta-geographically, meta-psychologically. A space that holds the external and internal worlds. I see painting as a medium of the preconscious, a way to access the unconscious in our psyches.
Painting is a form of embodiment, of the warmth and the struggles, intimacy and alienation. Sometimes through disembodiment and a state of becoming—The return of the body in a bodiless world, in the form of potent canvas as opposite to the flatness of screen, when the world has been reduced to mere images of the world.
